About The Anti-Burnout Club
The Anti-Burnout Club (or The ABC, as it’s lovingly known) exists to make better wellbeing burnout support more accessible, realistic, and human.
It was founded by Bex Spiller, an award-winning burnout expert, speaker and author, after losing both of her parents at a young age to poor mental health and stress-related heart disease.
What started as something deeply personal quickly became a wider mission:
to help people feel less alone, less overwhelmed, and more supported, without needing to have loads of free time, money or resources.
Where we started and where we are now
The Anti-Burnout Club launched in January 2021 as a subscription wellbeing platform, before becoming a registered social enterprise to ensure it would always be driven by people over profit.
In 2023, the decision was made to remove most paywalls and turn the app into a free, open resource, making support more accessible to all.
Today, The Anti-Burnout Club is made up of four key parts:
1. A free wellbeing platform
Our online platform (run on the app Heartbeat) is completely free to access and includes hundreds of classes, workshops, tools and resources to support people with stress, overwhelm and burnout.
2. ABC+
ABC+ is our paid membership for people who want a little more support, structure and connection.
Members get access to exclusive content, live sessions, priority booking and special perks for events, while directly helping to fund the free platform and community.
Think of it as a way to support The Anti-Burnout Club, while also supporting yourself.
3. Events, talks and workshops
Alongside our online platform, we host in-person events across the country, such as supper clubs, workshops, day retreats, and more.
Bex regularly speaks at workplaces, festivals, and other events, and delivers free workshops and talks for charities and public-sector organisations, helping to bring practical burnout prevention into spaces where it’s needed most.
4. Journals and self-care goodies
Bex has written and published two books/journals by David & Charles. The Anti-Burnout Journal (2022) and Overcoming Overwhelm Journal (2023).
Another way we fund our social enterprise activities is through ABC+ Box which is a seasonal delivery of self-care goodies.
Since launch, we’ve:
Welcomed over 10,000 people into The Anti-Burnout Club community
Created over 1,000 classes, workshops, recipes and wellbeing resources
Delivered 100s of free workshops for organisations including charities and public-sector teams
Won two Health & Wellbeing Magazine Awards
Published two journals with David & Charles: The Anti-Burnout Journal and Overcoming Overwhelm
